Suitcase Millions

October 23, 2008...
In our challenge, Suitcase Millions, a radio station offered a contest saying that the contestant may have one million dollars from the 6th National Regional Local Bank.  The catch: the contestant has to carry the money in all ONE DOLLAR BILLS in one suitcase.  Is it possible? Explain your findings.  If it isn't possible (which we have now discovered it isn't), what is the lowest denomination of money that the contestant could get in the suitcase and carry it?  How much would it weigh?
[Note: 1 bill weighs 1 gram.  There are approximately 454 grams in one pound.]
[Note: 20 bills = .7 oz.]

The lowest would be, to carry it, 100 dollar bills. The actual lowest would be 10 dollar bills but it would weigh more. If it had 100 dollar bills, it would weigh about 23 pounds or more. If it were 10 dollar bills, it would weigh about 203 ponds os there is a difference. It is possible for us to fit 1,000,000 dollars in our bag and carry it out if we had 100 dollar bills.

I think that 10 dollar bills would be lowest. If one one dollar bill weighs 1 gram, then 10 dollars would be 10 grams. Ten to the Sixth Power is one million. So ten grams to the sixth power is one million grams.

The lowest would be 20 dollar bills. Of course, 100 dollar bills would weigh less, but were looking for the least amount of dollar bills that would weigh the least.
